Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is a Japanese head spa treatment?

A Japanese head spa treatment is a luxurious, deeply relaxing scalp and hair care experience rooted in Japanese wellness traditions. It focuses on cleansing, nourishing, and rejuvenating the scalp, helping to relieve stress and improve circulation. Each session includes a combination of scalp massage, gentle exfoliation, hydrating masks, and soothing aromatherapy. Not only does it promote scalp health, but it also leaves your hair feeling soft, revitalised, and beautifully conditioned.

2. What can I expect during my treatment?

Each treatment is designed to provide complete relaxation and scalp rejuvenation. Depending on the session length, treatments may include a scalp analysis (for 60- and 90-minute sessions), followed by an application of scalp oils, a scalp massage, and a shampoo with gentle tools for added relaxation. You'll also enjoy a hydrating hair and scalp mask, steam therapy, aromatherapy, and a neck and shoulder massage. Every session concludes with a rough blow-dry to leave you feeling refreshed and renewed.

3. How do I choose the right treatment?

  • 45 minutes (£50): Ideal for a quick refresh and relaxation.

  • 60 minutes (£70): Recommended for deeper care, including scalp analysis and extra nourishment.

  • 90 minutes (£90): The ultimate relaxation and intensive scalp care, perfect if you’re looking to fully indulge.

4. Can I bring someone with me to my treatment?

While it's wonderful to want to share this calming experience, to maintain a peaceful sanctuary where you can fully unwind, the treatment room is intended for one client at a time. For safety reasons, children are not permitted in the treatment area due to the presence of tools and products that could be hazardous. I hope you enjoy your session and feel inspired to share your experience with friends or family afterward!

5. Will these treatments help with dry scalp or scalp conditions?

Yes! The treatments are designed to improve scalp health, and I use high-quality, natural products beneficial for dry scalps and sensitive skin. My own experience with scalp concerns has guided me in selecting products that are gentle and effective for various conditions.

6. Do I need to wash my hair before the treatment?

No need to wash your hair before coming in. The treatment includes thorough cleansing, so it’s best to arrive with your hair in its natural state.

7. Is there a specific aftercare routine?

After your treatment, you may want to avoid washing your hair for 24 hours to allow the products to fully penetrate. I’ll give you personalized aftercare tips based on your scalp and hair type.

8. How often should I have a head spa treatment?

For optimal scalp health, I recommend treatments every 4-6 weeks, though you may enjoy them more frequently depending on your relaxation and scalp care goals.

9. Are your products safe for sensitive skin?

Yes, I carefully select high-quality, natural products that are gentle on sensitive skin. Let me know about any specific sensitivities, and I’ll tailor the treatment to your needs.

10. What should I expect after the treatment?

You’ll feel relaxed, and your scalp will be deeply cleansed and rejuvenated. You might also notice increased softness and shine in your hair.

11. Is it safe to have a Japanese head spa treatment during pregnancy?

Due to the need for clients to lie flat for over 30 minutes during the treatment, I do not offer Japanese head spa services to pregnant clients. Your comfort and safety are my priority, and I recommend consulting with a healthcare provider for alternative relaxation therapies during pregnancy.

12. Are there any conditions that would prevent someone from having a head spa treatment?

Yes, certain scalp or skin conditions, such as open sores, infections, or recent head and/or neck injuries, may be contraindications for this treatment. People with specific medical conditions, like recent head injuries or severe migraines, should consult a healthcare provider before booking. If you have any health concerns, please reach out beforehand, and I can help determine if this treatment is suitable for you.

12. Are the Gift Cards refundable?

Gift cards are non-refundable and must be used within 6 months from the date of purchase.
